Boot Up Without
A Floppy Drive

Would you like to shorten your computer startup time, even if it is only a little bit? Tell Windows not to search for your floppy drive when it starts up. You'll still be able to use the drive, but Windows will only search for it when you click the floppy drive icon in My Computer, Windows Explorer, or in DOS. To do this:

     1. Right mouse click My Computer. Choose the Properties button.

     2. Choose the Performance Tab.

3.Choose the File System button in the bottom left corner of the screen.

     4. Make sure that there is no check mark in the Search for new floppy disk drives each time your
         computer starts.

     5. Press Apply then OK.
