Stay Connected To The Internet

Does your computer automatically disconnect after a period of time? If so, you may need to configure your modem to stay connected. Here's how:

     1. Choose Start / Settings / Control Panel (in Classic Start Menu View) or choose Start / Control
Panel (in Windows XP Start Menu View).
     2. Choose Network Connections / and the Connection name you are using to access the Internet
          with.
     3. Choose the Properties button.

     4. Choose the Options tab.
     5. In the Idle time before hanging up drop down box, choose Never.

     6. Choose OK.

Now, you won't loose your connection.

Note: Before choosing OK, you may want to adjust the Redial Attempts to a higher number (if you have a Internet Service Provider that is hard to connect to), and the Time between redial attempts to a lower number (so that if the line is busy, it tries to connect again quicker).
